Sep 28, 2010
It is easy to decorate a room if you have a theme or a color scheme to guide you whether a pink rug is necessary or not. If you have nothing in mind yet, then it is better not to buy a lot of things for your room until you have made up your mind. A theme is simply a story behind your decoration, it could be something that you saw from a movie, a book, or simply something that you thought of. Girlie rooms take different styles, it could be for a teenager, for a young adult or for a more mature woman.

When we say girlie rooms, the first few things that come to mind are flowers and the color pink. Nothing else can speak femininity more than these two. You can start with a base pink color for your walls. Try to minimize the prints and colors to at most three. Your room has to be relaxing, not confusing with all these prints and colors. You can use colors in strategic areas, and in combination with other colors. A pink and white stripes as a paper wall would look nice, with pink rugs that match the pink shade of the stripe. Then the rest of the furniture can be in white. It would make the look more interesting without becoming too monotonous.
Pink rugs can also be placed at the center of the room; They set the theme and the look of everything else that would touch them. Vintage looking rugged pink area rugs would not match modern or pop-art furniture that easily. You also have to be careful with selecting pink accessory because in the end it can look too childish.
Nowadays there are also variations to the pink-inspired rooms, from Green and Pink, to Navy Blue and Light Pink color combination, there is surely one that matches your taste and budget.
