The Beautiful Bathroom with Wicker Chests
Sep 23, 2010
I like having the bathrooms in my home all have varied designs to them. It makes them unique, and it has a strangely powerful effect on people – they’re blown away by a well designed bathroom! And while I have different colors, sinks, and towels in each one, there’s one piece of furniture that I know will fit well in any of them – a wicker chest of drawers. Wicker is unique, and can match practically any design. Here’s how I use it.

Wicker has a natural look to it, which is not a surprise – it’s simply dried reeds and grasses, so of course it hints towards nature. Because of that, any theme that is related to the outdoors – a nautical one for example, or an animal based theme – will be able to accommodate a wicker chest just fine. The brown color of wicker will likely match too, though if it doesn’t you can simply paint it – another big bonus.
Wicker is also very convenient to have since it can hold things so conveniently. You can fill wicker chests up with bath toys, towels, or just hide things away inside, and it will still look good. It’s incredibly convenient like that, and since I’m lazy enough to want to hide things away, we get along well.
Finally, wicker lasts almost forever. It will get brittle eventually, but it takes years and years, and by that time I’ll have another design in mind. If you paint it, the paint will form a seal that will keep it good even longer too. So it’s guaranteed to be around as long as I need it to be.
Overall, adding a wicker chest to a bathroom is so easy I do it without a second thought. It is useful, it looks good, and it’s easy to maintain. What else could you be looking for in bathroom furniture?
